I didn't necessarily say you couldn't continue to produce insightful, thought provoking posts . . . simply that you aren't required to do so every single day. :-) Please don't drop out on good posts due to bad advice! Someone in those 500,000 blogs has to say something worthwhile!

Me too. You've really put it out there that you're working on your book. You'll probably beat Lisa and I to the punch.

Also, I really liked your analysis of the Apple quandry. I had assumed that they made substantially more from the App store.

I think you are on to something here. The barriers to entry that Apple has thrown up with iTunes and the App store are incredible. Most people focus on the fancy hardware (which is no doubt fun), but it is the system of DRM, content management (including applications) and connectivity that are really making them hard to beat.

I couldn't agree more. After several miserable attempts to use Use Case diagrams in the professional world, I finally abandoned them as yet another overly academic tool with little practical application.

Context diagrams are much more helpful and much more understandable by the people who'll actually be building this system later.

jimsmelley.blogspot.com
